How Our Moroccan Rugs Are Made
01 Sourcing and Preparing Premium Wool
We start with locally sourced wool from Moroccan sheep, prized for its softness and durability. Artisans wash and prepare the wool by hand using eco-friendly methods that preserve its natural texture. This ensures a clean, strong foundation for weaving rugs that last a lifetime.
02 Natural Dyeing & Hand-Spinning
Our colors are inspired by nature. Using plant-based and mineral dyes from indigo to henna our artisans create rich, chemical-free hues. The dyed wool is then hand-spun with traditional tools, giving each strand a beautiful irregularity that adds charm and authenticity.
03 Hand-Weaving on Traditional Berber Looms
Every rug is meticulously handwoven on a wooden loom using methods passed down for generations. Our weavers many of them women in rural cooperatives create symbolic Berber motifs from memory. These motifs carry stories of family, fertility, strength, and spirituality.
04 Quality Inspection & Finishing Touches
After weaving, each rug is checked for strength, precision, and design integrity. We then trim and finish the edges by hand, and give it a gentle softening brush before shipment. The result? A rug that is ready to enrich your home with warmth and soul.
